Flavius Mareka TVET College Engineering Courses Requirements

Admission Requirements:

  • N1 Engineering
  • N2 Engineering (Electrical)
  • N3 Engineering
  • N4 Engineering (excluding Mechanical & Civil)
  • N4 Engineering (Mechanical & Civil)
  • N5 Engineering
  • N6 Engineering

A minimum of 30% is required to qualify for a supplementary examination in Report 191 programs.

  • If below 30%, the student must repeat the subject Full-Time or Part-Time.

Maximum of five subjects for Report 191 Business Studies per course, Full-Time or Part-Time, including supplementary exams. For Report 191 Engineering Studies:

  • Maximum of five subjects Full-Time.
  • Part-Time: Up to five subjects at the Mphohadi Campus and two at the Sasolburg Campus, including supplementary exams.

A maximum of two subjects can be supplemented in one exam session for Report 191. Due to high demand, a student may repeat a subject twice Full-Time.

  • If unsuccessful after two attempts, the student must supplement the subject and cannot enrol Full-Time until passing.
  • Total attempts per subject: Three (once Full-Time, twice Part-Time/Supplementary).
  • 80% class attendance is required for all students.

As per DHET policy, a sub-minimum-year mark is needed to take the exam. The Department may condone 38% and 39% scores to a passing grade if it is the only failed subject and others are passed.

  • Application to DHET is required for approval.
  • Maximum of two condonements per qualification by QCTO (two for N1-N3, two for N4-N6).
